We are seeking a skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. The Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for conducting geotechnical investigations, analyzing soil and rock properties, and providing engineering recommendations for construction projects. Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including soil and rock sampling, borehole logging, and field testing, to assess subsurface conditions and properties.
• Collect and analyze soil and rock samples for geotechnical characterization, including classification, strength, permeability, and compressibility.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and calculations to evaluate slope stability, foundation design, earth retention systems, and ground improvement techniques.
• Use geotechnical software and modeling tools to simulate soil-structure interactions, assess geotechnical hazards, and optimize engineering designs.
• Develop engineering recommendations and design parameters for foundation systems, earthworks, retaining structures, and other geotechnical elements of construction projects.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications detailing design criteria, assumptions, analyses, and recommendations for clients and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical oversight and support during construction activities, including site grading, excavation, foundation construction, and earthwork operations.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate geotechnical considerations into project planning, design, and execution.
• Manage geotechnical aspects of projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure is desirable.
• 5 years experience in geotechnical engineering or related field is required.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, theories, and practices.
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software such as GeoStudio, Plaxis, or FLAC.
